Kiwanis Scholarships

The Kiwanis Club of Los Altos Foundation believes strongly in aiding the youth of our community. Each year, we award five $3,370 Scholarships for study at DeAnza and Foothill Community Colleges.  We continually update the amount of our scholarships to make sure these students have enough funds for tuition, fees and books to get through their first year of college. Our scholarship assistance gives high school students a chance to attend college and pursue their dreams. If you are interested in helping a promising young member of Los Altos with his or her educational needs, please feel free to Donate to our scholarship fund and help make a difference.

Potential Applicants

We are looking for candidates that have demonstrated academic achievement, community service and commitment to learning in the face of financial and other obstacles. If you are interested in applying, or know a student that is a good fit, please have them fill our Scholarship Application form.

Robert “Bob” Piccinini Scholarships

One of the scholarships awarded each year by the Kiwanis Club of Los Altos Foundation is designated to the memory of the late Robert “Bob” Piccinini, owner and former CEO of Save Mart Supermarkets, parent company of the Los Altos Lucky Supermarket that has hosted the Los Altos Kiwanis Christmas Tree Lot for many years. The annual recipient of that grant is known as the Robert “Bob” Piccinini Scholar.  Through the generosity of Mr. Piccinini and Lucky Supermarket, Los Altos Kiwanis has been able operate the Christmas Tree Lot, a community tradition that is the primary source of funds for support of its scholarships program, the Kiwanis Special Games, the Los Altos Kiwanis Pet Parade and many other charitable grants and activities that benefit our community. Posthumously, Mr. Piccinini also continues to provide additional support to the education of youth through the California Growers Association Education Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program.
